Trackday Tuition
Kev “Sween” Sweeney
Kev has been riding bikes since the early 90s spent entirely on sensible road bikes like RGV250s and GSXR750s and first rode on a track day in 1997. In 2003 he took the plunge and started racing with Wirral100 in the 600 class. He has since changed to the Superclub Open Class with New Era on a Suzuki GSXR1000. Having ridden on a few Folly days over the years, Kev was delighted to take up the role of instructing for the Folly, the more mature and relaxed atmosphere making the days a true pleasure to ride on. Kev is now riding for the SPODMoto Racing team (www.spodmotoracing.com) in the 2007 Derby Phoenix Open class.
A Police Officer by trade, he is a grade 1 advanced road rider and a
Forensic Collision Investigator so has a sound grasp of handling
dynamics in theory and practice.
Stuart Stevenson
Raced motocross back in the early nineties and moved on to track days and racing in
'97. First trackday at Mallory on a roadbike in 97 and asked to go in fast group after 4 laps! I think my flares were caught in Chris Walkers chain guard! Entered EMRA's Roadstocks in 98 and 99 and won the championship both years with 27 wins out of 31 race starts (only one DNF @ Mallory). When too fat and bald for racing became an instructor for European Superbike School in 2001 and have attended up to 40 events per year across the UK and Europe. When the school finally closed its doors in 2005 I had gained the dizzy heights of senior instructor. Spent last year working for Smoothtracks in Spain and lots of one to one instruction across the UK. Still passionate about bikes and their owners stories.
